When in NYC, I feel like it is only right to do the most basic thing and google search for all of the instagram worthy places, so that is exactly what I did. It was a quick trip so I obviously did not get to to live up to my full basic potential but I got pretty close.

For starters, we stayed at the Empire Hotel. If you watch gossip girl you know, this is kind of a big deal. I will be completely honest when I say, I have been on season 2 for probably 5 years now but, I know who Chuck Bass is so that counts for something, right?! Even if you have never watched an episode of gossip girl in your life, I still recommend this hotel. It was very aesthetically pleasing and had an awesome rooftop bar with good drinks. Perfect opportunity for a little photo op.

Now, let’s talk about the best part of any trip, FOOD. The first restaurant we decided to try out was 1803. It was super crowded which is obviously expected. The service was fast and the food was good. I only had the avocado toast though, so am I even allowed to judge?! They had a jazz band and cute pink wallpaper so it was a 10/10 in my book. The next restaurant we went to was Jack’s Wife Freda. I was a little stressed out getting seated in this restaurant because you were pretty much elbow to elbow with a stranger, but I would 100% do it again. Their food was amazing and so worth the price. Also, spent 24 dollars on non-alcoholic beverages and not even mad about it.

It’s time to talk about the free stuff, exploring. The first thing we did was walk across the Brooklyn bridge into DUMBO. Be prepared to weave in and out of everyone’s photo shoots and make sure to watch out for bikes (they will run your over). DUMBO was awesome. Washington Street is a great place to take pictures. We might have went at a bad time because it was super crowded, but still worth it. The last day we decided to explore around SOHO, which was my favorite part of the trip. If you know me you know I love shopping so I was in heaven with all the stores. One of my favorite stores we went to was Glossier. Their customer service was amazing and the store in general was so cool. If you‘re into makeup or skincare and visiting NYC anytime soon you need to go.

This is a little all over the place and I am clearly not an NYC expert but I wanted to share a little bit of my basic ways with you all. Hope you enjoyed it!
